Weapon Update EarthShaker Mark II

We’ve had more setbacks than I realized, but I felt I should post up and let you know we’re still working on getting this to the gamers out there. Mark Haven is working on getting a firm grip on Maya 2012 while juggling and redoing some of the meshes with the map and redoing some of the texturing.
barnEbiss from the epic forums is helping out with lending a hand on some of the weapons. In fact he’s just about done with the Earth Shaker mark II.

For mostly Leon’s use but the player character will have that option as well in multiplayer mode. Will have some more updates for you after David treharne has done the UV mapping and texturing has he has done for a number of our other weapons for the project.

Hugh Geit Research and Development Facility Update. 6/26/12

Hello everyone,
Sorry for the delay, real life and such seems to take per dense lately. But Sean has been busy with projects as have I and the rest of the team but Sean did send me these awesome concepts for the Hugh Geit Research Facility’s Underground power station and testing facilities. Here they are and I’m telling you these are personally awesome in my book.

We also have a person who has a yearning to build Megatokyo in 3D UDK time and we’re giving him that chance. Mr. Mark Haven. He is a Fellow gamer and hobbyist who also shares a love for Bubblegum Crisis. He was looking for concept artwork from the series and I just happened to be in possession of a partially constructed version of downtown Megatokyo.

So, I presented him the option to help us out while helping him out with the map he was looking for. For the moment, he’s dived right in and started on UDK learning the ins and outs of it and how it works as to being able to finish the roadways and some of the “lots” that can be built with future property and companies that would exist in that part of the city. Hopefully we’ll have some update shots of Mark’s work here soon. Here’s to hoping.

Rachel Cordone/AngleMapper’s UDK Game Programming a Beginner’s Guide

What a privilege these has been reading through and applying the knowledge that are in the chapters with the explanations of how they work. I am someone who has ADD and sometimes I get distracted from what I’m doing, especially when it comes down to programming which I can say I think I am horrible at. But, Ms. Cordone AKA AngleMapper to the unreal community brings programming with UDK fun for the new user and to people like myself with some slight hurdles to jump across.

I was asked to review a part of the book I liked and why. Sadly I cannot, due to the whole book itself being great read and knowledge tool to those out there that are starting out and have questions on how the inner workings of UDK work how they are applied and work with each other. The hands on examples are great as you can apply them to your own alpha as you’re building your game and its environment.

I was about quarter of the way through the book and noticed I was starting to read into how the actor scripting worked and how the script works with the model to allow the model to keeping their feet on the floor and not in the middle of the floor, which has happened before in programming.  But after reading through that particular section I was able to understand and wrap my head around it. I finally knew the values and how the rotation worked without the headache I would end up giving myself in the end in frustration. With this however, it was understandable, upfront and told you what X did with Y and the reasons why they work together so well.

Ms. Cordone’s Guide to UDK  gets a 9.5 out of 10 for aiming towards those needing a step up, and helping hand into the programming side if the gaming field and helping us grasp the concepts and learning from them. I thank Rachel and Shaveer for this great opportunity it is a pleasure finally to grasp things that seemed more complicated than they actually are. Be sure to grabbing a copy of this guide at Packit Publication’s Website, this was a great help and it was fun to read.

Plasma Cutter turned Weapon Concept, developed.

The following weapon is actually a tool. It’s a Hugh Geit plasma cutter. Manufacturer Hugh Geit, Cost 9,000,000 Yen, Tech Specs Damage by contact 95% fatality by one strike. This piece of equipment is also known to be one the few that can cut thru Adamantite, and not burnt out. This tool was created to help in orbital construction but when an outbreak at the UNSP Proteus, where a Genom Voomer construction crew had gone rouge. This tool was used ultimately to bring down and stop said attack and brought everything back under control. David Treharne is the gentleman that helped bring the concept art piece to a 3D Weapon for use with the Megatokyo 2041 Weapons line-up.

Characters being modeled By Jean Gorospe 3D Artist and Character Modeler

Hans KleifAge: 29 (3rd Gen Voomer Sim Project same one that Rod is in as well.)

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Green

Height: 5’7.4

Weight: 173 lbs.

Ethnic Designation: Appearance wise German

Supposedly after an accident in which a piece of shrapnel gets embedded in his brain, Hans loses all memories of his past. He was transferred from the regular police force in Quedlinburg Germany and joins the A.D. Police as the resident team rookie. He has a great sense of humor, he’s friendly and has an attitude make him easier going than Kenji, and it was no surprise that the two didn’t get along well when they first meet. Slowly Hans does adapt to this new life, although he still worries about the memories he lost. Now, here is the truth! Hans Kleif is actually a 3rd generation Voomer built by The Hugh Geit CorporationGermany. HGC built their own version of a simulated human Voomer hybrid to keep in the technology race against Genom Corp.

The real Hans Kleif indeed received a shot to the skull and that shot was a fatal shot only delaying the evitable death of the officer, however due to the nature and close proximity of the hospital was to HGC’s R&D facility, the body was transferred to the facility. Here the HGC Cyber Genetics research team hard wired to Hans’s brain and transferred his consciousness and was able to transfer it into this cybernetic body which would be altered to resemble him right down to the gunshot that “grazed” his skull, and the scar on his left thigh.

Afterwards to have him reintegrate into the human society HGC release him back to the regular police and come to find out he has obtained a higher sense of morality and justice, and also a fierce hatred for Voomers. After the follow 2 years and the closing of the Liam Fletcher case Hans and Kenji are still partners, and are now part of the branch division of the AD Police. Although they do from time to time work with the Shinjuku AD Police Division still since their run in with Commander Leon McNicole and his Partner William Myers.

This is a rough draft as you can see he is currently a brunette instead of blond, and the head has a hair placeholder currently. Feedback always a pleasure to recieve.

Wow, take about a sweet update! The whole level is so “Clean”, this is what a corporate research and development facility should look like. Sean’s work just comes out and just when you think you have it set? BAM! He surprises you with some even more awesome than the last set. We’re really coming along on this and I’m amazed at the great teamwork everyone is doing in working with each other on this. I again tip my hat to each and everyone of you for your time and the effort on bringing this alive. I’d like also for everyoen to give Sean a big round of applause for the work he’s done so far. *Applause track is inserted here of effect 😉 * I know I speak for all of us when I say we can’t wait to see what is pulled from the hat next session.

Ok, rock on Sean! This is a Sketchup preveiw of the R & D Facility’s 1st floor. You can see the delicate details he’s placed in with each item, props, the doors and elevators and Showroom areas. This update is for the Hugh Geit Research Facility Map for the Game Project, as I said in a recent posting we’re definitely not slouching on the work. It is however takinga bit longer because we want quality in the models and enviroment as well as coding in some excellent gameplay. More coming up here very soon so we thank you all for standing by us and supporting us on the sidelines.
